DKP by player
DKP is awarded by player, not by character. This encourages people to play the character that is most needed on a raid, and prevents them from playing the wrong character, strictly based on the treasure that will drop (imagine if no one wanted to play a priest or a shaman because no good loot drops for those particular classes in our Raid instance)
Primary points
A player can bid on an item with their DKP only for their primary character, unless everyone else's primary attending the raid does not want to bid on the item. We want people's primary character to have the best equipment, not a secondary that is rarely played.
Primary characters
Since DKP is assigned to a player, not a character, you must select a character as your primary. Remember, this character does not necessarily have to be the one on a raid; it just has to be flagged as your primary character in order to get first bid on an item. If you switch primary status between your characters, you must inform an officer, and there will be a two week transitional period. This will limit players from jumping back and forth, based on what raids we have scheduled.
DKP bidding
Normal raid level items will have a starting bid of 4 dkp, and Boss level items will have a starting bid of 8dkp. If you wish to aquire the item, you must spend your DKP. If someone else wants the item also, they can outbid you and aquire the item unless you or someone else outbids them. If no one bids on the item, and it is no-drop, it will then be given to a new initiate who is helping on the raid (these individuals cannot bid on items during their probationary period). If they choose not to take the item, then it rots. We cannot allow people to not bid on an item, and expect to get the loot because no one else wanted it, without spending DKP. It is possible that a senior officer can lower the DKP cost of the item, but that is their discretion. If this happens, and you purchased the same item at a higher cost, you will NOT be awarded the difference. Items that are not no drop, that are no bid on will go into the guild's bank. The item will receive a DKP price, and the guildies whom were not on the raid can purchase the item. Please note that the DKP price will be higher then the starting bid it would have received on the Raid.
Keys and Flags
Certain areas of the world are only accessible if you have been flagged to enter that particular zone, or complete a series of quests in order to create a "key". You will not have to spend DKP in order to get flagged or obtain keys. The members with the most DKP points "total" will get flagged first. This has been set up to award those individuals whom aid the guild the most.
Selling items to the bank
If you acquired a raid level item which you no longer require, you can sell it back to the guild at 1/2 the current point cost. This will give you more points to spend on more powerful items, and give newer members an opportunity to acquire your old "uber" gear.
Buying items from the bank
If you wish to acquire an item from the guild bank, you must inform a guild officer of your request. The officer will tell you the point cost for the item, and subtract it from your DKP total. People who are trying out for the Kabal will not have access to the guild bank during there induction period.
Awarding points
You will gain DKP by performing various actions that help the guild as a whole. You will be awarded a base value for a raid, which will be determined by the raid officer. If you show up on time for the raid, you will also receive an additional 50% of the base DKP event value. This means you are ready to go at the "raid site" and awaiting instructions from an officer. You will also receive 1 point per 1/2 hour you are at the raid. Please note that if you are not in the raid for at least an hour, you will not receive the "event" DKP bonus. If we fail to take on the "head" mob or fail to meet our goal of the raid, no one will be awarded the "event" DKP. Remember, individuals can also receive DKP through a variety of other actions that further aid the guild.
What signifies a raid
A raid must be scheduled by a senior officers or raid officer to be considered a "raid". It also must contain at least 11 people, consisting of only guild members. Most raids will be scheduled via the guildportal event scheduler, and you are expected to sign up in order to get credit for the event. If you failed to sign up, you must inform a raid officer at the event so you can get credit. If a raid is called by an officer that is not scheduled, which can happen if a certain randomly timed creature spawns, you will be required to sign up via the guild portal event scheduler after the event is complete to receive credit.
Epic Mobs
Raids will be scheduled to assist guildmates in acquiring their epic weapon/armor/hero class. Members will not be able to bid on the "epic" drop for the individual we are assisting. Everyone will get their turn to get their epic level items, and we will be performing the quests over and over, so don't worry. Several factors will determine whom we are assisting on acquiring their item, such as seniority, raid point attendance, and how far they are along in their quest.
Normal Grouping
If you are in a normal group with guildmates, during a non-raid instance, we hope that you will use the need before greed loot system. Remember, we are all friends here.
Comments and Suggestions
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions on the loot system, please let myself or one of the officers know.
